The Mt. Vernon Lions Club Monday Night approved at $200 donation to the Mt. Vernon High School Social Justice Trip. Paul Fugate, President of the club said, "our club always loves to help out our students in the high school, I love to see our students travel the country to represent Mt. Vernon and learn outside of the classroom to actually feel and see history.
Mrs. Erickson was very thankful for the donation, and that it will go towards help paying for the trip. The trip aims to help students confront our country's history of race and bias and move forward proactively ensuring that we make gains to prevent the cycle of racism and hate from continuing.
